Wilhelm Morgner 1891-1917-2021
German expressionist painter Wilhelm Morgner died in 1917, only 26 years old, at Ypre (B) in the tranches of World War 1.
A small part of the loamy sand in which his remains are buried, was brought back (carefully wrapped in 26 layers of white felt) to his place of birth in Germany. This piece of art is now part of the permanent collection of the Wilhelm Morgner Museum (Soest, Northrine Westfalen, Germany) 25 x 25 x 25 cm
